Another Cover Sneak Peak - A Night at McHooligans

This is for the ebook version of "A Night at McHooligans" that is (was) meant to bridge the gap between Succubus Summoning 101 and Succubus Summoning 201.

Given the very short time constraints, I think the artist did a good job on this one.  It's got a quick 'n' dirty vibe that reminds me of seedy old thriller paperbacks.  It'll do the job.

My original plan was to put the ebook short out about two weeks or so before Succubus Summoning 201 as both a way to introduce Carnivrillarofax for the people that might have missed the original story and as an appetiser for the main book coming out later.

As Succubus Summoning 201 should be hitting all the ebook tomorrow...

Did I mention I suck at deadlines?

In this case the extras ending up working a little too well.  The most common request was for a short story featuring Nurse Honey.  I was going to rattle off something quick in the region of 2-3K words, but then I got a little carried away...  (Nurse Honey giving someone a sexy lap dance while dressed in a red latex devil outfit, who wouldn't! :) )

This should be coming out at the end of week, either at around the same time or just after Succubus Summoning 201.  I'll post full details when it hits the virtual shelves.

More Updates on Succubus Summoning 201

I have a release date, and it's soon.  This Friday to be exact.  On the 9th September Succubus Summoning 201 should be available to buy from Amazon and similar places.

I also still suck at deadlines.

I wanted to get everything in so I could sure of the release date and have a nice couple of weeks hyping it up here and on other websites.  As it was I delivered the manuscript 7 hours after the Monday noon deadline, and this for a book where I'd already completed the final chapter two months ago! :)

Thankfully my publisher, Excessica, were still cool with everything and Succubus Summoning 201 should go live at the end of the week.

One thing I want to clear up now before it disappoints readers who might have been expecting to find a lot of new stuff in the ebook version - there are not many extra scenes this time around.  I tried.  I had a plan for a few extra background bits on college life through the eyes of Darvill. I battled with it right up until the morning of the day the book was due, but I couldn't get them to work.

(This is one of the reasons why the manuscript was delivered 7 hours late.)

What I did do is spend a lot of time adding a bit more polish to the chapters.  Some sections were rewritten to be less clunky, a lot of typos were found and fixed, and I changed some of the terminology to be more consistent across the whole book.  It should be a much smoother read now.

It should also be free of some of the weird continuity errors that inevitably happen when a series is spread across five years and the writer forgets or misremembers details.  One of these errors I only managed to spot in my final proofreading check on my kindle.

It's Succubus Summoning 201, but it's a much higher quality version of Succubus Summoning 201 (crosses fingers, hopes he didn't miss too many typos...).  I hope you all enjoy it when it comes out at the end of the week.

Succubus Summoning 201: Additional Chapters and Extras

As with Succubus Summoning 101, I'm intending to include a few extra short chapters to fill in some background info on the world and characters.  Here's a question for you all out there:

What bits of the Succubus Summoning 201-213 chapters did you find unclear and what additional background would you like to see filled in?

This is mainly about the college and the other students (Darvill in particular).  I know you all have a lot of questions about Verdé and the others, but I'm keeping those cards close to my chest for the time being. ;)

The other thing I'm planning to do is to release "A Night at McHooligans" as an ebook novella just before Succubus Summoning 201 comes out.  The reason for this is because I don't know how many readers are aware of the series/shorts on Literotica and other places, and anyone going straight from Succubus Summoning 101 to Succubus Summoning 201 is going to wonder who the hell Carnivrillarofax is and how Phil knows him.  (There was no good way of incorporating the short story in Succubus Summoning 201 without it being out of sequence or wrecking the flow of the plot - I did try! :D)

The options are to price the ebook "A Night at McHooligans" as free or 99c (same as the Sandwiched by series, which I will be getting back to once Succubus Summoning 201 is out).  Free would likely leave me out of pocket once commissioning cover art and extra time spent editing/formatting is taken into account.  On the other hand, I loathe charging people for things that are already free online (I know some people don't mind this as they see it as supporting future work, but I don't want to take the piss).  So, if I was going to slap a price tag on this, I'd like to make sure there were some nice extras there so readers would feel they were at least buying something.

That leads me to:

What extras would you like to see in an ebook version of "A Night at McHooligans"?

Character bios?  Spellbook?  Mini bestiary within the universe?  An original short story might be an option, but it would likely need to be very short for me to be able to finish it in time.  Maybe a gratuitous excuse for a drawn-out sex scene with one of the five succubi.  I know some people have been begging to see some more Nurse Honey sexy action.  This is also a possibility.

Working on editing Succubus Summoning 201

Yep, in the guts of putting the Succubus Summoning 201 novel together.  That means things might be quiet around here for a week or so, depending on how things go.

I have three H-space monster girl bestiary stories in various stages of progress.  If I can sneak time to work on them, I'll post them in the usual weekly slot.  This is largely dependent on how Succubus Summoning 201 is progressing.  (And yes, you can surmise from this that the projected release date is not far off).

H-space MGB Profile: Red Lips Succubus

Name: Red Lips Succubus
Type: Succubus
Habitat: Wide-ranging, but thankfully rare.

Description:
Another of the succubus-type HSIOs that resemble (and are likely the originators of) the devil girls of myth.  They take the appearance of extremely alluring women, but with the additional 'devil' features of horns, tail and leathery bat wings.

These succubi have very pale, almost white, skin.  Their main identifying feature is their lips, which are full, sensual and a vivid scarlet in colour that contrasts sharply with their pale skin.  This coloration appears to be natural pigmentation despite looking like artificial lip gloss.

Attack Strategy:
This is one of the more powerful succubus types.  They are extremely dangerous because of their ability to mesmerise and completely immobilise opponents with their lips.  We don't really know how this works.  There is a theory that the combination of the shape, coloration and the way the lips stand out from the rest of the succubus's pale face triggers a weird neural reaction in the human brain that causes it to partially shut down and lock up all conscious movement, causing paralysis in the onlooker.  However the succubus does this, it is terrifyingly effective, with a single blown kiss being enough to incapacitate an entire squad.

As with other H-space succubi, the red lips variant feeds on the fluids and energy released during sexual activity.  Red lips succubi prefer to use either fellatio or cunnilingus, and are capable of sucking their prey completely dry in a frighteningly short space of time.

Countermeasures:
What do you want me to put here?

Did you read the part where I wrote they are capable of immobilising an entire squad simply by blowing a kiss at them?

How are we supposed to counteract that?

What do you want me to do?  Tell the men to wear blindfolds just so the succubi can drain them dry in other immoral and indecent ways?

I can't even get them to understand the dangers they face from the minor HSIOs.  When I tried to warn them about this new type of succubus they were too busy laughing at the concept of being blowjobbed to death.

This is hopeless.  We warn the men.  They don't listen.  We send them out and the succubi kill them.  Then we bring in a fresh batch to start the cycle anew.

When is this going to end?

Threat Level:
They can take out a combat-ready soldier using nothing more than a blown kiss!  This is what we are facing out here.
