Story Inspiration - A Succubus for Christmas

Despite getting distracted by various things, I still want to get those old short story collections back up for sale again.

One thing I wanted to add was a little segment at the back detailing the inspiration behind the stories.  Writing them (or rather rewriting them as I wrote some for Christmas and Valentine's Day a while back) did unfortunately lock me up last month and is part of the reason why I've been a little quiet recently.  It's usually the non-fiction that locks me up, for some reason.  It's why I stopped blogging on almost anything other than documenting recent releases.

In this case I wasn't happy.  What I was writing felt self-indulgent.  I know I'm only trying to emulate what I've read in other horror short collections/anthologies, but let's face it, I'm not Stephen King and a previous publication history of "I uploaded them to Literotica" is not as interesting as a list of dates and original magazines the stories were published.

I think it might be better to use this segment to answer questions people might have on the inspiration for the characters and story, or to clarify things I intentionally left vague and cryptic.

Starting up is "A Succubus for Christmas", which has this line-up:

1) A Succubus for Christmas
2) The Masterton Covenant
3) Bubble Bath
4) Flesh Pitchers of Prague
5) Hookah'ed
6) Pool of the Undine
7) Slayer vs Succubus
8) Arachne's Web*
9) Wrapdance
10) The Coils of Aenictia
11) Squeezed
12) Happy Ending
13) Incall with a Succubus

*exclusive to the collection

If you've read the stories before and have any burning questions on them, fire away below.

That might be a little more interesting for me to write about than "I was inspired by a monster girl picture I saw on the internet and uploaded the story to Literotica on [insert date here]".

  2. Blog is acting strange. I just wrote 10 questions and it ain't coming up. I'll try posting one comment one question.

    1. Yeah. I'm not sure what's going on. I got notifications to my email, but not everything is showing up for some reason. I'll check through later and try to answer anything that isn't showing here for some reason.

  3. 1. What was your inspiration for the Masteron Covenant?

    1. Not sure. That's an old one. I think it was supposed to be the classic old horror tale where someone recounts a story as a warning. In this case he's cursed to know no-one will heed his warnings and the succubus left him alive because she knows it to.

  4. 3. The incubi don't have to be like that MEH. They could actually be handsome arrogant jerks that look down on human men and think they are inferior.

  5. 2. Squeezed was a good super hero comic book story world. What was your inspiration and will we see a future concept like that again about succubi and comic book characters?

    1. Maybe. I think I answered a similar question on my Patreon. I would like to write a Succubus Squad type team where their superpowers are based around seduction and draining energy through sex.

  6. 5. Was it true that harlots used to actually kill human men in at the bar? If so why did the Madam stop it?

    1. The Madam is a bit of a control freak. She likes rules and there being a "proper time and place for things".

  7. 6. You know how no man notices the MC's harlot when you both walk through the bar. You gonna add a funny scene where a man tries to look but quickly stops because his succubus "date" is giving him a stink eye.

    1. They're succubi. No-one is going to be looking away from his current 'date'. (Unless it's Sammy, poor girl)

  8. 7. Isn't Nicole putting herself at even more risk of exposing herself to every client?

    1. One of the early story ideas I had for Nicole was to have a corrupt journalist trail one of her clients for a scoop. That was to show another side to her, which has been hinted but not shown directly in other stories. Nicole is very capable of defending her secrets.

  9. 8. Did the guy in Slayer vs Succubus actually had a chance at winning if he didn't rush in guns blazing?

    1. Against that succubus, probably not. That story is a little intentionally over the top for comedic effect. With a more cautious succubus hunter it might go differently.

    1. No plans at the moment, but maybe. I tend to regard places and characters as pieces I can bring out and place back on the board for future scenarios.

  11. A quick note. Something screwy seems to be happening with comments and not all of them are showing for some reason. I have them from email notifications and will try to answer them, so don't worry if your comment was randomly eaten.

  12. How will sex with a lust vampire work Hydra? Acarina is tit wank, so will the other vampire ride your dick while biting your neck?

    1. While I was brainstorming harlots for that faction I came up with a few ideas.

      1) The obvious ride'n'bite
      2) A blood slime that's like a slime girl but drains blood (painlessly) through skin contact.
      3) A blowjob variant, but her lips drain blood on contact.
      4) Similar to above, but with her pussy.
      5) A blood cloud vamp, similar to the one in the H-space story.

The fun thing about regular vamps is there is some psychology about penetrative fantasies underpinning them - which is why Count D turns up as more and more of a sex symbol in later adaptations and the hot female vamps of the old Hammer horror movies are lesbian.

For blood-drinking lust daemons, I think it's fun to reverse the psychology, so rather than biting (penetration), they engulf.

I'll still probably add a few bitey ones as well as it's still a hot look.

  13. Dealing with a few of the questions that inexplicably got eaten:

"Does Nicole have a limit of how many people she can show her true form? If so, isn't it going against her desire needing to hide if she just kept showing her true form to every client?

There was no need to show her succubus form to the politician in "Incall with a Succubus" its not like you have any daemon hunting humans armed with magic and anti daemon weapons snooping around."

I don't think she can control it much once she's in the moment. Her client list is fairly exclusive and if someone has a big mouth, she can be ruthless when she wants to be.

There are still elements of her past I need to flesh out. She has connections to some regular human power structures (although I'm reluctant to go full masquerade conspiracy there as every Urban fantasy does that). I suspect it's a relationship all about discreetness. They don't use her for their political games, she doesn't go on feeding rampages. She gets people to feed on that know how to keep their mouth shut and be discreet, they get a very exclusive pleasurable experience in return.

  14. "The creatures in Coils of Aenicita were strange. The twitchers didn't feel like they belonged in H Space and aren't even lust daemons. Are they imps before you created succubi imps?"

Converted humans. Something I should use more.

  15. "Do you have a sketched out harlot that is a succubus but is influenced by the Wrath domain and likes rough sex while torturing the human?"

The Dominions border each other, and daemons from the borders tend to be influenced by the bordering Dominion. Lust daemons on the Wrath border would probably be about erotic wrestling and rough sex.

(That also means the Wrath daemons on the other side would be nightmarish rape monsters. Lust daemons are kind of obligated to care about their victim's pleasure in order to feed - Wrath daemons, not so much.)

  16. "Hey Hydra, in "Incall" does it show some government officials know what Nicole is but are taking steps to keep her hidden?"

Yep, she has links. I imagine it as a loose mutual understanding. Her power level is not enough to conquer, but enough to make a concerted attempt to kill her painful. Both sides know to be discreet and behave themselves.

I probably need to write the story about what happens when one of Nicole's clients isn't discreet. I'm a bit iffy on it. I think people like Nicole as the 'nice' succubus. I know some people were upset about seeing Verde succ a random student (even though that is her nature), so it might 'spoil' her character to show her more ruthless side (although it has been hinted at in off-screen actions - Nicole has no qualms about killing people she doesn't like).

  17. Hi Hydra, I've been a fan of your work since succubus summoning 101. I like the idea of having Nicole as the "nice" succubus so. It shows how they can have more sides. I have two questions, are we going to see Nicole in anymore stories? Are you going to include any of those stories in succubus summoning 3? I know you been focusing on your game which is looking really good. I just hope you don't forget the series. Thank you for reading.

    1. Yes. I have a few ideas for her and a much longer arc. She'll always get at least one new story in each collection and I'm hoping to get the 7th collection together as soon as I have a 'completish' version of HoHH done.
