This week's harlot art preview is the scorpion-tailed geisha assassin Sasori Oiran.

Sasori Oiran is a member of the sensuality faction and can function as both a skilled courtesan and deadly assassin.
I do have a nice back story for her. She was summoned to 17th century Japan as a demonic assassin. However, fearful of her power, her daimyo betrayed her and tried to have her killed. For her revenge she unmanned him and killed his sons in front of him one by one. Then without master, she terrorised the Yoshiwara district for a couple of decades before finally being banished by a clan of kunoichi.
Yeah, I think that would make a great novel/manga/movie. It would also be very difficult to write as I'd need to do a ton of research on Edo-era Japan.
Maybe one day...

As for progress, the recent bout of Chaos Writing I indulged in to get things moving has resulted in me finishing the first draft for the first of the Round 9 elites - a latex-weaving arachne high priestess of The Sanctum of Strangulated Sighs. I remember Sasori. She was such a sexy lady in her short scenario and she looks really sexy in that art.
ReplyDeleteConsidering she is both a demoness kunoichi and a high-class courtesan, some part of me wishes we could see stories where she does leave with some guy who impressed her at the Brothel, getting into a relationship with them to both use as cover for both spying on them, as well as sex. Hell maybe she could even get prevnant for all I know (considering she is a ninja succubus basically)
Or she watched someone who got through the Brothel unscathed and maybe takes them as a semen slave or something after they think they've gotten back home (not to take them back to the brothel but maybe for her own hse or her clan's use (maybe they're all female and need humsn males to have children?)
It's really tricky with Sasori Oiran because of her blue-and-orange morality.
DeleteIf she really likes someone, she will give them her scorpion embrace because it's the greatest pleasure she can give a man. Unfortunately this is completely lethal to the man.
This is reflected in the back story idea I had for her. She kills the daimyo's sons with the scorpion embrace because she regards them as innocent and thus should be dispatched with pleasure. The daimyo betrayed her so she chopped his dick off and made him watch her kill all his heirs to make him fully aware she'd wiped out his line as well as him.
That twisted morality makes her really hard to use in a Nicole role. If she really likes someone, she will kill them with the scorpion embrace and think she's doing a good thing to them.
That would make any kind of beneficial relationship awkward to set up. It might work in an awkward way with someone she regards as a "friend" or minion. But the moment they do something that makes her really like her, or she thinks deserving of a reward, they're dead.
It makes her interesting as a character, but damn hard to turn into a "nice" fantasy.
Pity. Hmm could she like draw out the death via the scorpion's embrace to pleasure them as long as she can before they die? I could see that being a reward then.

The lower ranked members are safer. Their goddess's decrees are also a little ambiguous in how daemons interpret them.

Some (eg Calliophi) interpret that as never harm them, only bring them pleasure.
At the higher end they take it more to mean "you cannot kill someone before you've given them the highest peak of pleasure".
That leads to the darker side of the cult. They satisfy the creed by killing the human *with* overwhelming pleasure.
As a result it's a strange cult. The lower-ranked rank-and-file members seem like silly hippies that care far too much for their human "food". However, they hide an inner core of deadly assassins that have refined giving pleasure to the point it's lethal.
