This is a republication of my 2010 short story collection. My previous publisher, Excessica, has sadly closed their doors, so I'm republishing my old books under my author account. To mark the republication I've added a new cover and an afterword detailing where the stories first appeared and the inspiration behind them.
The others will follow over the next few weeks. I'm also hoping I'll kick my lazy ass in shape and get that brand new 7th collection finished before the end of year as well (or at least early next year).

ReplyDeleteAlso as much as the Anons are hyping up Ntye as being the most powerful succubus, I don't think that's the case. I feel like the Princess of Hell that Kootnz summoned on the guy that was trapped in the hotel room is the strongest.
I do wonder what would happen if they meet. Is a Princess of Hell so powerful and ancient that not even Nyte would want to piss one off?
I'm not sure on the respective power levels as I tend to leave them open until a story or chapter idea requires me to finalise them. There are probably more powerful succubi than Nyte I haven't shown yet. The weakness of Nyte is she dabbles in more physical techniques (which also strengthens her in other regards and makes her scary to warlocks expecting a typical succubus). A similar level succubus that's more focused on pure pleasure and charm abilities would probably overcome her. Although, other than what happened with Verde at the end of SS201, I haven't really codified what happens when succubi go at each other with nothing but sex magic.
DeleteSo would a High End Wrath daemon win against a High End Lust daemon? Since Wrath daemons are geared towards combat, does that mean the strongest succubus can't be the strongest Wrath daemon? Would Nyte lose a fight against Carny?

Money's on Wrath daemon. A high end succubus fighting a high end wrath daemon would basically be Minagi (succubus goddess from MGQ) fighting a pissed off Doomsday (from Justice League).

DeleteWould the wrath daemon be susceptible to charm/seduction? Not sure on that. The typical way to balance these things would be with a papers-scissors-stone type wheel. eg Wrath beats Lust beats Sloth beats Wrath sort of thing, but for all of the sins.
I haven't really organised that. I think Wrath would be favoured over Lust as mindless rage doesn't feel too susceptible to charm and seduction. The relative strengths of the daemons are probably more important. Even if Wrath is favoured vs Lust, a low-level wrath daemon is still going to lose to a high-level lust daemon.
As for Carny vs Nyte. That's something that could conceivably happen in the series, so I'll leave that open until I get to it.
How would you feel about having some Greek based monsters as lust daemons? What would a succubus-like Medusa be like?
ReplyDeleteThey'd be similar to how I've treated other monster girls as lust daemons - sexier versions of the original myth with more of a focus on sex.
DeleteI've already had a slightly Greek-mythology feel in one of the stories. The succubi in "The High-School Sweetheart Removal Agency" has hints to the Empusa of Greek myth, right down to drinking the blood of infants.
Not sure how I'd treat a Medusa. Probably similar to the classic look in appearance (the sexy monster girl rather than the mythological version). I'd probably have her gaze and snakes have more of a paralysing effect than outright petrification and probably have the petrification occur as a function of sucking the soul out during sex.
Speaking of Medusa, you should really check out the Percy Jackson movie scene with Medusa whispering in the guy's ear as her snakes pepper him with little kisses. The actress was hot and the scene itself was hot.
ReplyDeleteI had to drop the MCU guys. The writing isnt just getting more dumbed down but this "Strong and smart woman, stupid and weak man" formula is getting out of control.
ReplyDeleteI know Kevin Feige wanted Phase 4 to have more women super heroes, but the issue isnt that they are women, but Mary Sues while male characters are turned into idiots or chaotic evil bad guys.
Look at the recent movies. Thor and Dr Strange don't get to defeat/kill the big bad villain in their OWN movie, a female character did it.
I love your stories Hydra because your writing is good and you have a valid reason why the man lose to the succubi.
So you told us what the snake girls think about each other, so what do the succufairies think of each other? What does the two dommy fairies think of the dick destroying fairy, the butt fairy, and Ceis? Or what does Ceis think of the other fairies? Would she dislike Broinn and her sister? Would she find the dick destroying fairy terrible?
