Let's Play Monmusu Quest: Paradox [part 2] - 35: Succubus Village (Dungeon)

Side quest done in Gold Port, it’s time to get back to the main quests set by the king of Grangold.  We need to investigate the succubus village and the ladies’ village for the causes of their unrest.

Both villages are to the southwest of Gold Port.  The terrain changes back to green plains and forests, but it’s still the same wandering monsters as the rest of Grangold.  Succubus Village can be found here:

We don’t have to look very hard to find the unrest.  On entering the village proper we’re greeted with scenes of chaos.  There are fights breaking out all over the place and – unusually – it appears to be succubus on succubus.

The game represents the fighting as angry RPG sprites crashing into each other over and over.  This doesn’t seem very succubus-y to me.  Surely, if they’re succubi, they’d fight in a certain... ahem... “style” – i.e. trying to screw each other into submission.  Which means we’ve probably just walked into an epic angry orgy.

(Now that would make for a hot story!)

One side is trying to drain every man they see into submission.  Judging by the poor slobs spread out all over the place, they seem to have taken out most of the village.  The other side are trying to stop them, or at least prevent all the menfolk being reduced to dried-fish status.

So, who’s behind all this?  It can’t be Eva this time.

Ah, so this is the culprit.

A... succubus?

The nope-uccubus calls herself Natasha.  She’s got everyone riled up because the village refuses to hand over a man to her.  It’s not even an important man, but him being alive pains Natasha greatly.

Yowza, what he’d do to piss her off?  Hell hath no fury like a nope-uccubus ignored.

We don’t fight Natasha just yet.  It looks like we’ll have to pick our way through the mass orgy brawl first.

As Succubus Village is a returning location from the original series, I was expecting it to be populated with monster girls from the original series.  So, I was surprised to run into this bunch of lovely ladies.

It will come as no surprise to hear I rather enjoyed this Bad End scene.  The only disappointment is that the Bad End heavily implies all four are going to take their turn riding us to sexual ecstasy, but in the art we only get to see the green-haired succubus have sex with us.  This is the same for their request move back at the castle after they’ve been recruited (like the Nefertiti lamias and UN_DO slime girls, they’re recruited as a quartet).  While it feels a little harsh to criticise a game with as much H-content as MQ:P, I would have loved to have seen all four get their fair “share”.

They aren’t the only new encounter.  There’s even a new maid succubus as well:

She also has a crazy amount of request scenes in the pocket castle.  Five (technically 6), to be precise, which is very generous considering she’s your basic wandering mob.  She “likes” vacuuming Luka’s dick with a vacuum cleaner…

She also has a handjob-with-panties scene, a paizuri scene and two separate sex scenes.  Mei is a very talented maid even if most of the time she gives off the impression she can’t be doing with Luka’s shit right now.

I can’t remember the artist’s name, but I think they have a similar succubus as one of the bonus encounters in Succubus Prison.  As with most Bad Ends in that game, the scene has some animation, so you get to see her tail pump out the contents of the protagonist’s balls and gulp it down, rather than just read about it in text.  It’s well worth checking out.

(As anon points out in the comments, the artist is Cool Kyoushinsha.  Yes, they do have scenes in Succubus Prison.  But you might know them more for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, especially considering it's a moderately well-known anime series...

While we’re back in the pocket castle, it’s worth having Eva in the party while talking to the succubus harem (they’re even given the name “harem”) to pick up some extra snippets of background information.  Apparently poor Eva is very accident-prone (likely due to her Jack-of-all-Trades, Master-of-None nature).  It sounds like she was banned from the Succubus Village for burning the mayor’s house down and other calamitous acts of clumsiness.

While the presence of two brand new encounters in an old location is a pleasant surprise, it does make sense.  The succubi in the original series were all NPC characters rather than generic monster girls, so it would be a bit weird to fight them over and over as random encounters.

The original Mincubus, Lencubus and Maccubus are present as one-off fixed battles taking place around the village.  They’re sort of pseudo-boss fights, but obviously not as difficult.  There are similar “fixed” fights (as opposed to the usual JRPG random encounters) with the new succubi as well.

Mincubus can be fought in the petting zoo type enclosure to the left of the entrance.  After beating her, she’ll run off to her house where you’ll need to fight her with her sister, Lencubus.  As with the original series, the prostitute Maccubus can be found in the pub, where she’s pretty much bukkake-d the entire bar to unconsciousness.

Not 100% sure, but I think they got new battle sprites for this game.

The village is split in half by a river.  The mayor’s house, and I believe our destination, is found on the north shore.  There’s another fixed battle with various harem members to clear the bridge, and then we can move onto the mayor’s mansion.

The mansion is right at the top of the map.  Inside and upstairs an elegantly attired woman can be found upstairs in one of the bedrooms.  Surprisingly, she’s human.  The succubus lying at her feet is bemoaning the fact she lost a sex battle to a mere human.  So I guess she’s the battlefucker, but we’ll need to take care of whatever has the village in such a state of upheaval first.

To do that we need to go downstairs and find out what the hell is up between the succubus mayor and nope-uccubus Natasha.  But as I’ve just passed a thousand words for this post, it will have to wait until next time.

Monmusu Quest: Paradox [part 2] ver 2.20 and Other Oddities from the Graphics Folder

As people have kindly pointed out to me, the ver 2.20 upgrade for Monmusu Quest: Paradox [part 2] was released over the past week.  This is a big update Toro Toro Resistance has been talking about for some time.  As long as you have an account with DLSite, you should be able to download the new version from your My Items tab (assuming you purchased the original).

From what I can gather, the majority of the changes are primarily concerned with endgame content for the Labyrinth of Chaos.  This doesn't really affect my walkthrough as I'm still a fair way off this point.

I've heard Sonya also gets some new H-scenes depending on what sex toy she has equipped.  I still haven't figured out how to access them, so I can't really comment on those.  As her main artist is Xelvy, I imagine they're pretty wild.

The other change is quite coincidental, given I was fighting them in yesterday's post.  Two of the Beelzebubs (Beelzeboobs?) get new request scenes back in the pocket castle (or rather on the MS Fish, as that's where you can find them).

Striga (the red one) will give you a handjob and prostate massage while your face is buried in her abdomen boobs.

Boobs.  Being milked.  The period matters.

Media (the green one) has another hug scene, which also sort of doubles up as paizuri given that our dick gets a good boffeting in her abdomen boobs.  Media is the sweetest one of the three.  Her hug power is to make you feel so relaxed and comfortable you don't want to fight back.

The most important thing about 2.20, though, is it means Dargoth and co can get back to the epic translation task.  Understandably, knowing there was a huge patch on the way, they didn't want to put a bunch of work in only to see it blown to bits by 2.20 coming out and changing everything.  You can keep up to date with how the translation project is coming along over at Dargoth.com.

While I was furtling through the game's Graphics folder I also noticed something I'd missed before.  This is not new to 2.20, it was also present in the previous builds.  Similar to the Gnosis scene I talked about earlier, there's some Alma Elma artwork I don't remember seeing in the game.

Alma Elma does have a request scene where she gobbles up Luka with her tail (similar to one of her vore Bad Ends in the original series), but she spits him out before... well... stomach bulge stage.  So I'm not sure how Luka gets to earn that particularly gruesome fate.

Is this what happens if you request H-stuff from Alma Elma on the Ilias route?  An alternate Bad End?  I'm curious to know.

This seems to follow on from Alma Elma's max affection request scene (which is lethal, but she's good enough to tell you this beforehand).  Again, I'm curious if this is actually in the game.

(It's possible we have to fight Alma Elma again at some point and these are the Bad End versions of her H-request scenes.  Seems weird though, given she seemed very much on our side the last time we saw her.)

The first one is unusual because, while some really really horrible stuff happens to Luka in the worst Bad Ends, we don't ever see his body visibly destroyed on screen.

I'm still itching to write that monster girl fantasy novel/story which subverts MGQ's tendency to spare the audience and instead gives readers those Bad Ends in all their ghastly, horror-filled glory. ;)

Are we excited?

When Toto Toro Resistance revealed the new major characters for Paradox, I was really looking forward to seeing what naughtiness the shikibus sisters got up to.  I was disappointed we never got a Lilith scene in part 1, but I think the wait is finally over.  We were teased with her showing up at Mephisto’s school (where we got cactus spine vagina instead), but I’m pretty sure she’s waiting for us upstairs for epic succubus sexy times a boss battle.

So let’s go!

Finally, we meet at last

She’s the one responsible for the magical field smothering the whole country under a blanket of lust.

Oh wait, actually she isn’t.  While we’re talking to her she reveals (as Alma Elma suspected) she doesn’t have the power to corrupt the whole country this way.

Huh.  Then who is?

Tamamo?

Tamamo!?  I thought you were supposed to do the Big Damn Heroes moment on our side.  And why aren’t you sealed in your loli form?

Alice realises this isn’t her Tamamo.  This an alternate Tamamo from another reality that’s been consumed by darkness.

So we’re not fighting Lilith after all.  Awww.  New alt!Tamamo is fairly hot to be fair.

Boss battle time!

And by boss battle, I mean total curb stomp.  At least, unlike the Erubetie battle that caught me off guard earlier, we’re not supposed to win this one.

This is because it’s time for the real Tamamo to arrive for her Big Damn Heroes moment.

She breaks her seal to reveal her true form, completely surprising Alice in the process.  Ah, yeah.  Alice wouldn’t be aware of what happened in the original series.  Her tutor, Tamamo, is not a descendent of the six legendary demon spirits, she is one of the six legendary demon spirits.  She only walks around in loli form most of the time because the bulk of her power is sealed away.  However, she can break it for short periods and let her true power out.

Like now, versus her evil (more evil?  No, I think just evil.  Tamamo’s character has been fairly consistently “good” throughout the series) alternate reality counterpart.

While the two Tamamos slug it out, it looks like we get the undercard bout versus (yay) Lilith.

As befitting her status as a top succubus, Lilith is pretty strong on the pleasure side of things.  At any particular moment I think half my party was either seduced or helplessly writhing on the floor in the grip of orgasm.  Like Alma Elma, bring Lilith along to any social gathering for an instant orgy.

Her temptation attack is to shove Luka’s face between her big soft boobies.

Must... resist...

Not going to lie, was mightily tempted.  Unfortunately, for some inexplicable reason, I neglected to save before this fight, like way back to before the sewer system level of neglect.  So, as much I wanted to forget everything and bury my face in Lilith’s more than ample bosom, I also really didn’t want to go back all the way to the beginning of the sewers.

(This becomes hilariously ironic for reasons you’ll find out about at the end of this post.)

Afterwards, I went and sought her out in the boss refight room on the second floor of Ilias’s temple for “safer” sexy times.  This time we let our face stay between her big soft boobs and she uses her succubus energy drain to suck out all our resistance.

It’s all fun and games until somebody ends up a dried fish.

There was one odd thing that did happen in the rematch.  At some point Lilith randomly opened a conversation (as some bosses do, even if raising their affection is pretty much meaningless AFAIK) where she told Luka that her sister, Astaroth, rather fancied him, and what message would he like to send back to her.

Oh my.  I suspect Luka is going to get one hell of an epic fucking from those three in MQ:P [part 3].

But that’s way off in the future.  First there’s getting past this fight.  I’d like to say I used guile and tactics, but I suspect it’s probably because my Luka is around ten levels higher than he should be.  If you want to fight Lilith at a “fairer” level, I’d advise bringing a party of succubi with seduction/climax protection and levels in black magic (The pyromaniac imp, Rami, is probably perfect here if you’ve levelled her up enough).

After Luka defeats her, Lilith acknowledges he’s pretty powerful.  Not 100% on this as the machine translation seemed a little wonky, but she seems to suggest to alt!Tamamo that they should bring Luka on board with whatever long-term scheme they’re running.  alt!Tamamo isn’t so keen on that idea, so Lilith leaves.

While we’ve taken care of Lilith, unfortunately things are not going so well in the main event clash.  our!Tamamo can only break her seal for a short period of time and that time is running out.

That means it’s time for yet another Big Damn Heroes moment.  This time it’s Nero and Neris teleporting in.  They have no illusions as to alt!Tamamo’s power, so there’s no kidding around here.  They morph straight into their max-power forms.

Luka, your kids have grown up

Yeah, they’re blatantly Luka and Alice’s kids from an alternate (probably the original MGQ) reality.

They warn that letting out this much power will likely bring down the whole castle, so there’s nothing more we can do except leg it while the twins join forces with our!Tamamo.

Once the dust settles over the ruins, everyone is safely out.  Neris, Nero and our!Tamamo join us by the castle gate.  They survived, but alt!Tamamo managed to escape.  On plus side, so did Alma Elma.

(And Ilias, but I don’t think anyone cares about her.)

So that’s that.  A segment packed with juicy plot.  Six legendary demon spirits from another reality appear to be the power behind the shikibus sisters.  Where Black Alice fits in all this, I have no idea.  She’s always been one to run her own schemes.

For the moment, we appear to have fixed the Grangold situation.

And this is where the hilariously ironic part comes in.  So far MQ:P has been fairly generous with avoiding the typical Lost Forevers of other, more famous, JRPGs.  You’re always free to revisit previous locations in search of monster girls you might not have recruited yet.  Grangold castle – and its sewers – appear to be an exception to this.  As far as I know – and I might be wrong on this – you can’t re-enter the sewers or castle after the Lilith/alt!Tamamo battle.  So, if you want to recruit the cute fox girls and not-so-cute black golems wandering around these locations, you need to do it before confronting Lilith in the throne room.

Which means I’m going to have to go back to the save game before the sewer entrance after all.  Sigh.

Let's Play Monmusu Quest: Paradox [part 2] - 22: Gold Fort

We have the heavenly knight and succubus queen Alma Elma in the party.  As much as there’s a temptation to lock ourselves in a bedroom with her all day, we have a world to save.  The armies guarding the gate of Gold Fort have been lured away by a decoy attack, so this represents a perfect opportunity to sneak behind enemy lines and work out what the hell is going on in Grangold.

There is still a guard on the gate, but he’s a man and Alma Elma is a queen succubus.  The guard and Alma Elma vanish into the bushes over on the right and… well, you can guess what happens.

He never stood a chance...

She doesn’t kill him, though.  Alice checks on that when Alma Elma returns.  I have a party of killer, man(and monster girl)-eating blobs that have been devouring their way across the countryside, but Alice is concerned about a random guard.  It’s rather cute.

(Although it’s possible “devouring” works differently here.  Digestive juices count as pleasure damage and it is still possible to recruit a monster girl after “eating” her.  So who knows how things work in MGQ-verse.)

In the castle, Alma Elma departs from the main party as she takes care of the remaining garrison.  By “take care” we mean put everyone in a blissful post-orgasmic stupor in the blink of an eye.

They never stood a chance...

Everyone human, that is.  Alma Elma warns us when she gets back that there are a number of automata and ant girls roaming around that she was unable to affect.  Those form our random encounters for this location.  Two of them are the ant girls and automata girls we already fought in Lima.  They are joined by a brand new type of monster girl – Paizuri Doll.

Paizuri’s Doll speciality – unsurprisingly – is her large breasts.  Her temptation move is to bind Luka with her long blonde hair and drag him close enough to wedge his cock between her massive boobies.  She’s not very talkative, but her boobs are extremely expressive as she squeezes and rubs until we inevitably pop.

Her Bad End continues right from where she left off.  She keeps plumping those big soft boobs against our cock until copious amounts of white stuff are leaking out of her cleavage.  Eventually Luka loses consciousness from all his exertions.

Despite not being devoured or drained to a dried fish, it’s still an End for Luka.  The experience has left him so depraved, all he wants to do is go challenge titty dolls (and lose) over and over.

Gold Fort is a relatively small dungeon.  You can find Ilias imprisoned in a room on the righthand side.  She is still only accompanied by her loyal slimo and doggo.

You can recruit 4 party members you know, Ilias.  That might help prevent this from happening.

There is some good armour and a decent sword in the chests, but it’s no big deal if you miss it as any gear in this game is usually outclassed by whatever’s available in the next town or city.

The major lore/plot location is the general’s room on the second floor.  We find the general lying dead on the floor.

He definitely never had a chance!

At first Alice asks Alma Elma if she went too far, but it turns out the general has been dead for a couple of days.  You can find his diary at the back of the room.  From his entries it’s pretty clear he’d been brainwashed by the queen (and maybe daughter) back in the capital.  This brainwashing was wearing off with distance from Grangold, but before he could break free of it entirely, someone came along and offed him.

As for who offed him, a couple of likely candidates show up right as we leave Gold Fort through the North Gate.

They might - ulp! - stand a chance...

Morrigan and Astaroth.  I guess this means we’ll be losing Alma Elma here.

Sure enough, she detaches from the party to take on the two Lilith sisters and cover our escape.  Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

She’s done her job.  We’re through the Gold Fort and inside Grangold territory.  What delights await us here?

Let's Play Monmusu Quest: Paradox [part 2] - 21: The Ruins of Lima

It’s time to invade Grangold.  Back in Grand Noah, Mephisto has cunning plan.

Wait, wasn’t Mephisto the double agent planted by Alice’s mother?  Who you uncovered to be secretly in league with the dastardly Lilith sisters.

Yes...  Well...  It’s complicated.

Mephisto’s plan is a decoy attack with everyone to draw most of the garrison away from Gold Fort.  While that’s going on, we’re supposed to go to the ruins of nearby Lima and meet with a contact who’ll then sneak us through the fort and behind enemy lines.  Once behind enemy lines, we’re supposed to find another secret agent in a village close to Grangold.  The overall objective is to get into Grangold and assassinate Queen Ant, who they think is manipulating the King behind the throne.

Sounds like a suicide mission to me.

Oh well.  I wonder who our contact is.  I’m guessing we’re going to run into another returning character in an unexpected role.

Welcome to Lima.  Everyone's dead.

It’s a bit grim.  The inhabitants have been massacred.  Even children.  That’s Japanese games for you – all bright and colourful, then skeletons.

Lima is still hostile territory.  Random encounters trigger while walking around.  While Lima is a new location, the monster girl opponents are all returnees.  This time the Automata Girl and Ant Girls get to show up a little earlier than they did in the original series.

The ant girls are by Niku Drill, which means they don’t really have Bad End scenes as such.  They’re also tough little buggers with a multi-hit attack that hits like a truck.  I’d feed them to the blobs and not feel guilty about it in the slightest.

Undine and the Slimies disagree.  Nom nom nom.

In contrast, I remember Automata Girl knew a mind-boggling array of sexual tricks in the original series, and even had CGIs for most of them.  Out in the field she’ll try to tempt Luka with an ecstasy-bubble infused handjob, but all her other scenes can be unlocked back in the pocket castle providing you recruit her and figure out what the fussy bugger likes to eat.

The mystery contact, revealed

Alma Elma.  Now, what’s a succubus like you doing in a place like this?

Joining Le Resistance by the looks of things.  She’s our contact and will help us get through the fort.  She joins the party and the first thing she does is fly off to attempt to recruit Tamamo.  Tamamo is still unhappy and depressed, but she’s not unhappy and depressed enough to go full betrayal, like Alma Elma has.  So, we leave her there.

In the meantime, the coalition of everyone else is marching on Grangold.

This draws away the forces guarding the gate of Gold Fort.  It’s time for us to…

Wait.  If Alma Elma has joined the party, does that mean she’s also hanging out back at the pocket castle?

Well, well.  I suppose we should, to satisfy inquiring minds and all that...

Alma Elma’s first request scene is a repeat of her coliseum Bad End.

At the second one, things get interesting.

It feels better than it looks

This is Alma Elma’s classic tailvore scene, where she sucks Luka up and massages/drowns him in ecstasy, but with new artwork.  She also spits Luka out (after emptying his balls, obviously) at the end, which is a pleasant surprise.

The third request scene is advertised as full sex, but it also comes with a warning.  Alma Elma asks us if we’re really sure we’d like to proceed.  Yeah, of course we’re sure.  Let’s get to it!

Mistakes were made.

Alma Elma is not being evil, it’s just the code of being the succubus queen.  If someone asks her for sex, she feels obligated to show them the very heights of sexual pleasure that only succubus energy drain sex can reach.  Which coincidentally also involves completely and utterly fucking our brains – and everything else – out in the most comprehensive way imaginable.

Needless to say, Luka does not survive the experience.

But as Alma Elma says afterwards, he didn’t appear to have any regrets, so neither should she.

Hi, Yamata-no-Orochi.  Cra—  Never mind.  A case of mistaken identity.  Sorry to bother you, ma’am.  (ow ow ow ow).

Unfortunately, you don’t get anything but an achievement for beating Sphinx and Leviathan.  Leviathan is tempted to go back to her wilder days of adventure on the high seas, but ultimately decides she has too much responsibility as admiral of the navy.

Yamata-no-Orochi kicked our ass, even with Alma Elma.  I suspect with a better party configuration or a few more levels it might be possible, but it already feels like what we’re doing is a bit cheaty.

If you want to engage in a bit of power-levelling and drag some of your lesser-used characters up a few levels, now is the time.  Alma Elma is as powerful as you’d expect for a heavenly knight and ridiculously OP for this part of the game.  So much so, I’m surprised the game allows this rather than sticking us on rails right to Gold Fort (where she’ll likely be taken away from us).  Whether it was intentional or not, it’s certainly fun to control Alma Elma and have her snu-snu her way through two continents of unsuspecting monster girls.

But alas, the story needs to push on.  It’s time (finally!) to enter the Gold Fort.

We’re back on the main quest line.  The objective is to investigate the Tartarus region close to the disappeared village of Esta.  But we can’t enter there just yet.  We need a permit from Queen Noah and before she gives us that she’d like us to first investigate her definitely-not-untrustworthy-in-the-slightest advisor, Mephisto.

Mephisto’s School of Magic can be found just north of Grand Noah here:

If you scouted out this region before entering Grand Noah, the school will have been locked.  But now we have the key given to us by Queen Noah.  So let’s go and see what nefarious activities Mephisto is up to.

At least on the second floor we have some magical elves, succubi and pixie girls that are little less nopey.

Their Bad End is a group reverse gangbang, because we’re in one of those magical porno schools where 25-year-old porn actresses cosplay as school girls and bang the shit out of the janitor.

(it’s pixels, offendatrons.  Pixels.  The elf girl is probably over 1,000 years old anyway.)

Most of the student NPCs are doing magical studenty things.  There is a battlefucker in the room furthest over to the left.  Her name is Rufa and she likes using toys.

She also has the correct number of limbs and no insect appendages burst out of her while doing the deed.  This counts as unexpected in this place.

Of more surprise is the presence of Alma Elma in a schoolgirl costume on the other side of the first floor.  Yes, you did hear that correctly – Alma Elma in a schoolgirl costume.

She’s in disguise and also here to find out what’s going on with Mephisto.

Unsurprisingly, there are goings on with Mephisto.  She can be found in her office in the middle of the second floor.  She’s also not alone.  With her is the milfiest (and therefore sexiest) shikibus, Lilith.

So, Mephisto is working with the three succubus sisters.  After noticing us, Lilith can’t let us leave.  We’re going to have to wait a little longer for that Lilith fight, though, as Alma Elma shows up and both her and Lilith are spirited off for an epic battle elsewhere.

That still leaves Mephisto, and she promptly transforms into a giant demon lamia for the boss fight.

Headmistress of Nope

Mephisto’s attacks are mostly magical in nature.  I’m foolishly trying to level all the major characters up through the various jobs and don’t really have anything resembling an optimal party configuration.  The fight is pretty much Luka (still over-levelled because you can never remove him from the party) solo-spamming Demon Slicer over and over while the rest of the party tries to stay alive with phoenix feathers and priest magic.

Also, you probably don’t want to lose to Mephisto.  Her Bad End is another lamia unbirth scene, but with added cactus-spine fangs.

Oh right, School of Goddamn Nope.

On the plus side, you could probably stream that segment on Youtube and it wouldn’t need to censor anything other than the boobies.

(If I remember right, there is an actual let’s play series of the original Monster Girl Quest.  They made use of a lot of meme-y and similar comedy cut outs to mask all the naughty bits.)

Mephisto fesses up after we beat her.  She is still working for Alice 15th rather than the ancient (likely dimension-hopping) succubus trio.  It just so happens that their interests are in alignment here.  She also reveals that Alice 15th, her boss, is the one pulling the strings behind Grangold and manipulating them into waging war on everyone.

We take her back to make the same confession to Queen Noah.

Meanwhile, Alma Elma and Lilith are still fighting.  It looks pretty epic.  Go Alma Elma!  (But not too hard.  We wouldn’t mind... ahem... fighting Lilith later.)

Queen Noah hears Mephisto’s confession in her throne room, but the weird part about it is that, despite working for Alice 15th, Mephisto was totally sincere in her role as advisor.  Alice 15th ordered her to help Grand Noah as much as she could, and she’s happy to continue doing this even if that means going against Grangold, who appear to also be following the orders of Alice 15th.

The enemy of my enemy of my friend is also my friend of my enemy of my... I give up.

The net result is nothing really changes.  Queen Noah is happy to continue using Mephisto as advisor as she’s pretty damn good at it and seems willing to give her best for Grand Noah, even if her reasons for giving her best for Grand Noah were because she was ordered to do so by the current enemy of Grand Noah, and... no, it’s gotten too complicated again.

Queen Noah also points out it’s probably better to keep Mephisto close anyway, so they can see better what she’s up to.

The Queen is – finally – satisfied we’ve proven our worth.  She gives us a permit to join the investigative team at Esta and we can—

Mephisto asks if we can investigate Plansect Village.  A civil war has broken out between the plants and insects and the region is in unrest.  The village lies on the border and is therefore of strategic importance to Grand Noah.

Oh, for fuck’s sake.  We’re never going to get to see this next Tartarus region.
